The objective of the project is to prepare a
State Action Plan of reform to achieve the reproductive and child health goals set in the
Vision 2020 document and the State Population Policy. Components will include, a basic
package of Family Welfare services to be available at the Sub-center and Primary Health
Center. Commissioned by the Commissioner Family Welfare, the action plan, when ready, will
pursue health sector reform with technical and financial support from the European
Commission. |

Objective |

To prepare a State Action Plan (SAP) for CFW
to achieve the family welfare and reproductive and child health goals set in Vision 2020
and State Population Policy. |

Tasks |
|
|
- Prepare a basic package of Family Welfare services to be
available at the Sub-center and Primary Health Center. Details of manpower to be available
to deliver the basic package and also the infrastructure and supplies needed and their
costing to be worked out.
- Design interventions (Statewide or area specific) to be
undertaken over the next 5 years that would help the Family Welfare Department achieve the
demographic goals set out in the Vision 2020 and Andhra Pradesh State Population Policy.
- Suggest the interventions to be undertaken to create an
enabling environment in the State to achieve the family welfare, reproductive and child
health goals of Vision 2020 and Andhra Pradesh State Population Policy specially by
undertaking any redeployment if felt necessary and by decentralising the administration.

Activities |
|
|
- Focus group discussions (FGD) with Multi Purpose Health
Workers (Female) from three districts, Adilabad, Cuddapah and Vizianagaram. The main
objective of this discussion is to know about how can we improve the health of women and
children in the state.
- State level workshop of Medical Officers would provide the
necessary inputs for the development of State Action Plan.
- Review of literature on Sector wide approach that is being
adopted in different countries, situation analysis of the Family welfare programme and
other aspects related to women and child health and successful strategies adopted for the
same.
