Mr.
G. Surendra holds a Post Graduate Degree in
Statistics from Sri Venkteswara University,
Tirupati. He received Gold Medal for highest
scoring of marks in his graduation from Besant
Theosophical College, Madanapalle (Andhra
Pradesh). He started his career as a Vital
Statistician of municipal town and worked for
improvement of Registration of Births and Deaths.
Prior to joining the IHS, he was the Associate
Director and Chief Technology Officer of the L V
Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI). He implemented
Health Information Infrastructure projects like
Tele-Education, Tele-Medicine. He implemented
Tele-Ophthalmology in Primary and Secondary eye
care centers in LVPEI Health Eye Pyramid after
getting first phase funding by preparing and
submitting a project report to National Programme
for Controlling Blindness (NPCB). As part of
Health Informatics, he evaluated Electronic
Medical / Health records and recommended suitable
product for implementation besides his
contribution to Bio-Medical Equipment Technology
and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
for accreditation under NABH (National
Accreditation Board for Hospitals). Earlier, he
worked on various state information infrastructure
projects, such as AP State Wide Area Network
(APSWAN), AP Secretariat Campus Network (APSCAN),
AP State Videoconferencing facility. He was
General Manager AP Technology Services
(1998-2005).
Mr.
Surendra has rich experience in the field of
planning and statistics, rural development,
information technology, and health services. He
was the Chief Planning Officer of Nellore
(1988-91) district. Mr. Surendra coordinated
various socioeconomic surveys from the Directorate
of Statistics (1995-97) including, multi purpose
household survey, annual survey of industries. |
