CHAIRMAN OF THE INSTITUTE |
|
|
| 1. |
Appointment & Tenure: |
|
| a. |
The Chairman of the
Institute shall be elected by Board of Governors from among the charter members and shall
hold office until the election of his successor. |
| b. |
The Chairman shall hold
office for a term of five years from the date of his election but shall be eligible for
reelection. |
| c. |
Where due to any reason a
casual vacancy occurs in the office of the Chairman, the board of governors shall elect a
Chairman as soon as possible. He shall hold office for the unexpired portion of the term
of office of previous incumbent but shall be eligible for reelection.Till such time as a
new chairman is elected by the Board of Governors ,thea President shall officiate as the
chairman. |

| 2. |
Powers & Functions: |
|
| a. |
The Chairman, shall, by
virtue of his office, be head of the institute, |
| b. |
The Chairman shall preside
over the meetings of the board of governors. |
| c. |
The Chairman, shall, when
present preside at the General Body, the Executive Council, formal ceremonies and
celebrations of the institute, |
| d. |
The Chairman, may by order
in writing annul any proceedings of the institute, which is not in conformity with the
objectives and/or rules of the institute. |
| e. |
Provided that before making
any such order, he shall give a notice to the concerned authority or office bearer to show
cause why such an order should not be made and if any cause is shown within the time
specified therefore, in the said notice, shall consider the same. |

PRESIDENT OF THE INSTITUTE: |

| a. |
The President of the
Institute shall be nominated by the Board of Governors from amongst its members and shall
hold office until the nomination of his successor but shall be eligible for
renomination. |
| b. |
The President shall hold
office for a term of three years from the date of his nomination but shall be eligible for
renomination. Provided that the first President shall hold office for a term of five
years. |
| c. |
Where due to any reason a
casual vacancy occurs in the office of the President, the board of governors shall
nominate a President as soon as possible. He shall hold office for the unexpired portion
of the term of office of previous incumbent but shall be eligible for renomination. Till
such time as a new president is nominated by the Board of Governors ,the Chairman may
nominate one of the charter members as President. |

| 4. |
Powers and Functions: |
|
| a. |
The President shall subject
to the control of the chairman and Board of Governors exercise general supervision and
control over the affairs of the institute and shall ensure that the decisions of various
authorities of the institute are given effect to. |
| b. |
He shall be the ex officio
vice chairman of the Board of Governors. |
| c. |
He shall ordinarily preside
over the Executive Council and the General Body. |
| d. |
The President may if he is
of the opinion that immediate action is necessary on any matter ,exercise any power
conferred on the executive council and shall report to Executive Council the action taken
by him on such matter. |
| e. |
Provided that if the
executive council is of the opinion that such action ought not to have been taken, it may
refer the matter to the Board of Governors ,whose decision there on shall be final. |
| f. |
The President shall
exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be prescribed by
ordinance(s) or any bye law. |
